 | Welcome : Welcome to the Sugar Industry Authority Training Institute (SIATI)! Hi participant, welcome to the SIATI! We are pleased to have you join us as we present training courses geared at moving the wheels of the sugar industry and setting in motion productivity and production increases through appropriate training, all other things being equal. In the ensuing training courses, we intend to address gaps in the knowledge or to fundamentally reduce the size of the identified gaps, but more importantly to bring each tenet of our learning to coalesce around the increasing production and productivity efficacies. These are important factors and drivers of sustainability which is among the buzzwords of today’s modern production and management systems. How we go about addressing the issues are foundational, and our approach will be through highly interactive sessions engaging our minds through practical and theoretical resources that we have tailored to make learning as fun as possible yet never detracting from the serious nature of correctly implementing the values of the courses. We will be engaging through agriculture, and factory and laboratory analytical practices and procedures, with some administrative elements focusing on the use of simple software tools to enable data collection and management. Our value proposition in these courses is that we will find elements in them that speak either directly or indirectly to the challenges faced by our various systems, policies, procedures, outputs, and outcomes. As we navigate the various discourses together, we expect to find solutions through frank and rational discussions; some tailored, and others generalized, to address the issues towards arriving at solutions over, hopefully, the short- to medium-term. Surely, this is the place to be to learn more about the issues that affect our daily operations and how to make positive impacts through our productive resources.
